WP1 New methods and health analyses (UCAM)

Leads: Haneen Khreis and James Woodcock

The overall goal of this WP is to develop an overall UBD and policy framework, evaluate and conduct systematic reviews and identify research gaps. WP1 will create a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) framework, model and tool to estimate mortality and morbidity impacts of urban and transport related stressors and lifestyles including air pollution, noise, temperature, green space, accidents and physical activity for European cities.

WP3 To review, evaluate and develop (new) tools and guidelines for cost benefit (LNU)

Lead: Stefan Gossling

WP3 will review, evaluate and develop (new) tools and guidelines for cost benefit analyses/socio-economic impacts. The work is based on reviews, stakeholder workshops and development of new methods, tools and guidelines specifically for the urban settings and interventions and related environmental stressors.

WP5 Health and socio-economic impact assessment (ISGlobal)

Leads: Cathryn Tonne and Mark Nieuwenhuijsen

WP5 is aimed at calculating the urban burden of disease and social economic impacts estimates for the nearly 1000 cities 2015, 2018, 2021, 2024 and make a ranking of cities by health impacts of environmental stressors (air pollution, noise, green space and temperature) and for various urban and transport scenarios in selected case cities (Barcelona, Brussels, Utrecht, Sofia, Warsaw).

WP7 Management (ISGLOBAL)

Lead: Mark Nieuwenhuijsen

WP7 focuses on delivering efficient project management and coordination, implementation of responsible research and innovation, and ethics.

WP2 New methods and health and well-being indicators (UU)

Leads: Gerard Hoek and Ulrike Gehring

WP2 aims to review, evaluate and develop (new) methods and collect data for health and well-being indicators.

WP4 Environmental stressors estimates for cities 3 (Swiss TPH)

Lead: Kees de Hoogh

The overall goal of WP4 is to evaluate and obtain data for environmental stressors for cities. Additional objectives are to obtain spatial boundary data, urban and transport planning related exposures, including air pollution, noise, temperature, and green space and city characteristics for nearly 1,000 cities in Europe and physical activity and traffic injuries data for the case city studies (Barcelona, Brussels, Utrecht, Sofia, Warsaw), as well as to develop beyond the most recent state-of-the-art methodology in depicting biodiversity and green space.

WP6 Consultation and knowledge translation (HEAL)

Lead: Anne Staufer

The aim of WP6 is to conduct consultation with and provide knowledge translation to cities and stakeholders, and to share good practices, for greater science-policy impact. We strive to make the change on city level policy and action plans, as well as on national and EU level policy making by reducing the current high burden of disease and negative socio-economic impacts in our cities.]
